Jewellery and other adornments
For health and safety reasons, jewellery should not be worn in school. If earrings are worn, they must be small, plain studs only. Children will be required to remove earrings for PE and physical activities. Staff are not permitted to remove or store earrings. We recommend that ear piercing takes place at the start of the summer holidays to allow sufficient healing time.
AfPE Health and Safety guidance: "The Association for PE strongly recommends the practice of removing all personal effects at the commencement of every lesson to establish a safe working environment. This applies to all ear and body piercing."
Long hair should be tied back for safety and hygiene. Makeup, nail varnish, gel nails and false nails are not appropriate for school and should not be worn
