Mrs McIntosh - Headteacher - Overall Safeguarding Lead

My name is Mrs McIntosh, and I am the Headteacher here at Brierley. I have been part of Brierley for so many years that I now have the joy of teaching the children of former pupils I once taught myself. That is something very special to me and says so much about the strong sense of community we have here.

As Headteacher, I feel incredibly lucky to lead such a special school. I am so proud of our school family and truly love being part of this community. We have a big heart, fantastic staff and wonderful children. The children make us smile every day, and no two days are ever the same. There really is no place quite like Brierley.

Mrs Cunningham - Assistant Headteacher, SENDco & Safeguarding Lead

My name is Mrs Cunningham, and I have been teaching at Brierley for many years now. It truly feels like my second home! I love being part of the Brierley team, and I have been fortunate to work with many children and their families over the years.

It is such a rewarding experience to watch our children grow into confident and caring individuals as they move on to the next stage of their education. It is even more special when former pupils return to visit us and share how they are getting on and what they have achieved. When I am not with my Brierley family, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my cat, Dennis.

Mrs Faddes – Assistant Headteacher, English Lead & Deputy Safeguarding Lead

My name is Mrs Faddes and I am the English Lead here at Brierley. I am most passionate about reading. Reading is my favourite subject to teach and I love nothing more than finding a great book to share in lessons. Those moments where we are reading in class and we just can’t put the book down are the best – this is how I want all of our children to feel about books.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family (including my husband and two children) and friends. I love days out to places like the zoo, the beach or even just a nice long walk with my dog.

Mrs Harvey - School Business Manager

I'm Mrs Harvey, the School Business Manager here at Brierley Primary and I love being part of the Brierley Team.

I love being a school business manager and being able to add to making  a primary school journey a happy experience as well as assisting in securing the best learning outcomes for children, in which ever way I can.

I have lived in Crewe all my life and my dad attended this school many years ago!  I have lots of family and friends in the area, hence my passion for wanting to work in a Crewe school. I have a grown up daughter who lives and works in London. I also enjoy the gym, outside walks, reading, holidays, watching box sets, music festivals and most of all spending lots of time with my family and friends.

Miss Baker – Clerical Officer

Hi, I’m Miss Baker the Clerical Officer here at Brierley. I’m from Crewe and Brierley was my primary school when I was younger. A lot has changed since I came here - we didn’t even have toilets inside the building!

I have two grown up children who keep me busy at home. My favourite part of my job is when it is leading up to Christmas and we have lots of things going on for the children, such as Christmas plays and Christmas parties - the children get so excited which is lovely to see.

Mrs Robinson - Administrator

I joined the Brierley administration team in February 2024 to work part time in the school office.  Prior to that I had retired after 20 years working at another local primary school. I have three children, one grandson and a fur baby called Nelson.

Miss Dunn -  Nursery Teacher

My name is Miss Dunn. I love working at Brierley and being part of the team. Little Bears is like my second home and I love meeting and getting to know all the Little Bears as they start their nursery journey. One of my favourite stories to read is 'Aliens Love Underpants' and my favourite nursey rhyme is 'Five Little Ducks'. I am also the music lead here at Brierley, I love watching the Rocksteady performances each term.

Miss Latham - Reception Teacher

My name is Miss Latham and I am the Reception teacher here at Brierley. 

Most of my experience has been in the EYFS and I love the variety of teaching this age group.... one minute you're teaching phonics and the next you're building sandcastles in the sand area!  It's never a dull day in EYFS and I love to watch the progress the children make every year.

Outside of teaching, I love swimming, reading and spending time with my nieces and nephew.

Miss Bradshaw - Teaching Assistant

My name is Miss Bradshaw.  I have worked in education, specifically Early Years, for 8 years now.  I have a Level 6 qualification in education.  I have worked here for a few years now. I have loved every minute of watching the children grow and learn.  In my free time I enjoy spending time with my two dogs: Oscar and Bailey.

Miss Smith - Teaching Assistant

My name is Miss Smith, and I am a Teaching Assistant at Brierley Primary School. I have worked at Brierley for over 17 years, and during that time it has become much more than just a workplace. My own children attended the school, which has given me a strong connection to the Brierley community and makes it feel like one big family.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, going out for meals, and watching films.

Miss McGinley - Teaching Assistant

My name is Miss McGinley.  I am a Teaching Assistant here at Brierley.  I have worked at Brierley for over six years now and have loved every second of it.  In my spare time I like going on long walks with my dog, Dudley, and spending the rest of my time with my family and friends.

Mrs Mahmood - Teacher

My name is Mrs Mahmood, and I am a teacher in Year 1. I am an experienced teacher with a strong passion for education and a commitment to helping every child achieve their full potential. I am dedicated to creating a warm, nurturing classroom environment where children feel happy, supported, and inspired to learn.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. I also volunteer with community food projects and support people experiencing homelessness. I value kindness, compassion, and service, and I am passionate about making a positive contribution to my local community.

Mrs Piggott - Teaching Assistant

I am mum to an energetic four year old who has just started primary school. We enjoy lots of stories, role play, messy and imaginative play in our house - something I love to bring into work with me.

I have a thirst for knowledge and am always looking to learn and develop with the children around me.

Miss Piotrowicz - Teacher

Hello! I am Miss Piotrowicz but the children know me as Miss P. I have worked at Brierley for a few years now and I love being the Year 2 teacher. I have always wanted to work with children since being inspired by a school teacher when I was a child. I love teaching all areas of the curriculum but if I had to choose, my favourite subject would be maths.

Mrs Taylor – Teaching Assistant

Hello! My name is Mrs Taylor, and I am a Teaching Assistant currently based in Year 2. I have been part of the Brierley team for many years and have worked across a variety of year groups during my time at the school.

My favourite subjects are reading and maths, although I also enjoy supporting children with art activities and helping them to develop their creativity.

Mr Taziker - Teacher

My name is Mr Taziker, and I am the Year 3 teacher here at Brierley. I have been teaching for many years and have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Brierley family for the past five years. I love helping children to develop their confidence, independence, and enthusiasm for learning as they progress through Year 3.

I enjoy teaching all subjects, but my favourites have to be Maths and Geography. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and my three crazy cats, as well as supporting my beloved Bolton Wanderers.

Mrs Lomas – Teaching Assistant

Hi, my name is Mrs Lomas, and I am a Teaching Assistant here at Brierley. I have worked at Brierley for many years now (time certainly flies!) and completed my teacher training in Birmingham, graduating in 2015. I love working with children and seeing how they grow and progress throughout their time at school. It is incredibly rewarding to know that you have played a part in their journey and helped them to develop both academically and personally. As a parent myself, I am continually amazed by how quickly children learn and grow.

I have a passion for music, singing, and dancing, and you will often find me joining in with the children, much to their amusement! In my spare time, I enjoy walking the occasional mountain and spending time with friends and family.

Mrs Bostock - Teaching Assistant

My name is Mrs Bostock, and I am a Teaching Assistant at Brierley Primary School. I first qualified as a Teaching Assistant in Qatar, where I lived for 17 years and had the privilege of supporting children from all over the world. Working with such a diverse range of pupils was a truly rewarding experience.

After moving back to the UK in 2024 with my two rescue cats, I joined the Brierley team and quickly felt at home. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and travelling.

Mr Draper - Teacher

Hello! My name is Mr Draper, and I have been teaching at Brierley Primary School for several years. As part of the Year 4 team, I teach all subjects and love creating lessons that are full of fun, creativity, and curiosity. I particularly enjoy the challenge of teaching Maths and sharing my passion for History with our pupils. If you ever have an interesting fact about the past, I would love to hear it!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time outdoors and keeping active. Whether I am out for a family walk, cycling through our beautiful countryside, playing cricket, or chasing after my two energetic children, I am happiest when I am on the move.

Mr Fletcher - Teacher

Hi, I am Mr Fletcher. I originally trained as a secondary Maths teacher at Keele University and have been part of the Brierley family since 2013. During my time here, I have taught across Years 2 to 6, helping children to develop their confidence and achieve their full potential in Maths and across the curriculum.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and son, as well as going on long walks with our lively spaniel, Charlie. Being outdoors and making family memories are some of the things I enjoy most.

Mrs Roberts - Teaching Assistant

Hi, I'm Mrs Roberts, and I have been part of the Brierley family for many years.

I enjoy reading, and one of my favourite books is Charlotte's Web, which I first discovered during my time at Brierley. I also have a passion for baking and love creating a variety of novelty and birthday cakes in my spare time.

Another of my favourite pastimes is watching Strictly Come Dancing. I have even been lucky enough to be part of the live audience on a Saturday night, which was a fantastic experience!

Miss Finney – Teacher

Hi, I'm Miss Finney. Over the past 13 years, I have taught in schools across Staffordshire and Cheshire. I enjoy teaching all subjects; however, my favourites are Art, History and English. I especially love sharing a variety of stories with my class and getting swept away in a good book together.

When I am not in school, you will usually find me reading, baking or getting creative. I love spending time outdoors and going on adventures, whether that's a day trip to the zoo, exploring castle turrets or paddling in the sea. Most of all, I enjoy going for walks with my border collie, Nell, and spending time with my family.

Mrs Proudman – Teaching Assistant

Hello, I am Mrs Proudman. I am a Teaching Assistant and Staff Governor here at Brierley. I have worked here for many years, and it truly feels like part of my family. During my time at Brierley, I have worked across all key stages and have loved helping children learn, grow and achieve their full potential.

I firmly believe that every Brierley child deserves the very best opportunities in their education, and I am proud to play a part in their learning journey and achievements.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my two daughters, my new grandson and the rest of my family. We love going on long walks and watching our gorgeous and very playful cat. I also enjoy spending time with friends and exploring new and interesting places.

Ms Mac - Teacher

Hello! I am Miss Mac. I have worked at Brierley for quite a few years now. I am part of the Year 6 team and I love doing all things creative or exciting. Don’t be surprised to see something exciting happening within the classroom – dissections, trenches, or even clay sculptures! I love learning and I hope to share that with all the children.

When I am not at Brierley, I love travelling, going to dance classes or hiking in the countryside.

Mr Coombs - Teaching Assistant

My name is Mr Coombs, apart from a Friday morning when the children know me as DJ Coombs!

I was born and bred in Nantwich and moved to Crewe in the 1990s. Over the years, I have had a variety of jobs, including postman, cheese maker and gravy maker, to name just a few.

My Brierley adventure began in 2005 when I attended the local college to train as a Teaching Assistant. Since then, I have worked with every year group across the school. I enjoy all subjects, but Maths and Computing are my favourites.

I have three children, two who have flown the nest and one who is currently in Year 9 at a local high school. We are also proud grandparents to two grandsons, one of whom attends Brierley, and a granddaughter.

In my spare time, my wife and I enjoy attending music festivals and growing our own fruit and vegetables. Although I do have a habit of killing our tomato plants! We have had much more success with lettuce and potatoes, which our Giant African Snail, Baz, loves, along with strawberries.

My name is Mrs Faddes, and I am the Assistant Headteacher, English Lead and Deputy Safeguarding Lead here at Brierley.

I am most passionate about reading. It is my favourite subject to teach, and I love nothing more than finding a great book to share with a class. As English Lead, I am committed to helping every child develop a love of reading and become a confident writer. I believe books have the power to spark imagination, build knowledge and open up new worlds for our children.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, getting lost in a good book and making special memories with those closest to me.

Mr Foulkes – Teacher

My name is Mr Foulkes, and I joined Brierley in September 2013 with the aim of making PE and sport the very best they can be for our children. I love teaching and taking part in a wide range of sports, with football and racket sports being my particular favourites. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is watching children grow in confidence and develop their skills in PE. Alongside PE, I also teach Maths, Geography, D&T and Forest School.

Away from school, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching Manchester United whenever I can, and training my two young children to become future sporting stars!

Mrs Nolan - Teacher

My name is Mrs Nolan and I have been teaching for 10 years, with this being my second year at Brierley, which is such a welcoming place. My favourite subjects to teach are French, History and English and I love being able to share a joy of learning with the children, especially involving languages! In my spare time, I love baking, going for walks with my family (and my dog, Bertie!) and travelling. I’ve been fortunate to visit lots of different countries with my two daughters and I always have somewhere on my list to explore.

Miss Anderton – Teaching Assistant

My name is Miss Anderton, and I am a Teaching Assistant here at Brierley. Over the years, I have worked across most of the year groups, which has given me the opportunity to get to know so many of our wonderful children and families.

Outside of work, I enjoy keeping busy with my two children and taking part in sports such as netball and cricket. I love being active and spending quality time with my family.

Miss Potter - Teaching Assistant

My name is Miss Potter, and this is my fifth year working at Brierley. During my time here, I have worked in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. I am looking forward to another exciting year, supporting the children as they learn, grow and experience all the wonderful opportunities the year has in store.

My favourite subject is Science because I love seeing how curious and enthusiastic children are when exploring the world around them. I also enjoy teaching Maths and helping children gain confidence as they develop their skills and apply their knowledge across different areas of learning.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. We love going on days out together, visiting new places and trying new experiences.

Miss Emery – Sports Coach

My name is Miss Emery, and I teach PE here at Brierley. My main role is developing PE and gross motor skills within Early Years, helping our youngest children build confidence, coordination and a love of being active.

I am lucky enough to know all of the children at Brierley, as I also teach PE across the school alongside Mr Foulkes. One of the things I enjoy most about my role is seeing children develop their skills, confidence and enthusiasm for sport as they move through the school.

Mrs Jones – School Cook

Hello, my name is Mrs Jones, and I am the Cook here at Brierley. I am married and have two children and two dogs who keep me busy outside of work.

I enjoy watching Formula One and rugby, and I also love going to bingo with Wendy, one of our Midday Assistants. I thoroughly enjoy being part of the Brierley team and helping to provide delicious meals for our children each day.

Mrs Brereton – Kitchen Assistant

Hello, I am Mrs Brereton. I am a Midday Assistant and Kitchen Assistant here at Brierley. I have worked at the school for many years and have enjoyed seeing Brierley grow into the warm, welcoming and friendly place it is today.

I love being part of the Brierley community and seeing the children each day. One of the things I enjoy most is helping to create a positive and happy environment for everyone.

Outside of work, I enjoy going to bingo with Mrs Jones, our Cook, and I have recently started swimming once a week. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Mr Moore – Site Maintenance Officer (SMO)

Hi, my name is Mr Moore, and I'm the SMO here at Brierley. Before joining the school, I worked in the window fitting and building trade for nearly 30 years. I was fortunate to be offered a role here at Brierley, and I'm so glad I accepted it.

The staff and children make Brierley such a special place. Everyone has made me feel part of the Brierley family, and it is a pleasure to come to work each day. The children are always happy, polite and respectful, which makes my role even more rewarding.

In my spare time, I enjoy going to the gym and taking part in CrossFit. My favourite pastime, however, is off-road running and getting out into the fields and hills whatever the weather!

Our cheerful and friendly cleaning team play an important role in keeping Brierley looking its best. Once the children have gone home, they work hard behind the scenes to ensure that classrooms and shared areas are clean, safe and ready for another busy day of learning.

Our team is made up of both long-standing and newer members of the Brierley family. Some have had children attend the school, giving them a special connection to our community. Together, they take great pride in helping to create a welcoming environment for everyone at Brierley.
