Mrs McIntosh - Headteacher

As Headteacher, I am incredibly proud of Brierley Primary School and our Nursery. It is a real privilege to be part of such a special school and such a wonderful community. I have been part of Brierley for many years, and one of the things that makes this school so special to me personally is that I have now had the privilege of teaching both parents and their children.

Our staff work incredibly hard to provide children with rich, exciting and meaningful learning opportunities that help them to grow in confidence, develop their talents and reach their full potential. I feel very fortunate to lead a team that cares so deeply about our children and their families. We know our children well, we celebrate their successes and we support them through challenges. At Brierley, children are at the heart of everything we do, and we want every child to feel safe, happy, valued and proud to belong. For me, Brierley is much more than a school. It is a community that I have been proud to be part of for many years, and I feel incredibly lucky to continue sharing in the journeys of so many children and families.

Miss Latham - Reception Teacher

Hi! My name is Miss Latham and I am the Reception teacher here at Brierley. 

Most of my experience has been in the EYFS and I love the variety of teaching this age group.... one minute you're teaching phonics and the next you're building sandcastles in the sand area! 

It's never a dull day in EYFS and I love to watch the progress the children make every year.

Outside of teaching, I love swimming, reading and spending time with my nieces and nephew.

Miss Dunn - Nursery Teacher

My name is Miss Dunn. I love working at Brierley and being part of the team. Little Bears is like my second home and I love meeting and getting to know all the Little Bears as they start their nursery journey. One of my favourite stories to read is 'Aliens Love Underpants' and my favourite nursery rhyme is 'Five Little Ducks'. I am also the music lead here at Brierley, I love watching the Rocksteady performances each term.

Miss McGinley - Teaching Assistant

My name is Miss McGinley.  I am a Teaching Assistant here at Brierley. I have worked at Brierley for more than five years now and have loved every second of it.  In my spare time I like going on long walks with my dog, Dudley, and spending the rest of my time with my family and friends. 

Miss Smith - Teaching Assistant

My name is Miss Smith and I am a Teaching Assistant here at Brierley. I have been working at Brierley for over 17 years. My children also attended Brierley so I feel it’s always been part of a family to me. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, going for meals out and watching films.

Miss Bradshaw - Teaching Assistant

My name is Miss Bradshaw. I have worked in education, specifically Early Years, for 8 years now.  I have a Level 6 qualification in education. I have been at Brierley for a few years now and I have loved every minute of watching the children grow and learn.  In my free time I enjoy spending time with my two dogs, they are called Oscar and Bailey.

Miss Baker – School Administration Assistant

I deal with all the Little Bears' paperwork. I am the person on the other end of the phone when you ring the school. I know that starting nursery can be a worrying time for parents and we all do what we can to make sure that both children and parents settle in as quickly as possible.

I have two children who keep me busy and at home we have two rabbits. My favourite part of my job is when it is leading up to Christmas and we have lots of things going on for the children, such as visiting the panto, Christmas plays and Christmas parties, the children get so excited which is lovely to see.
